More robot goodness from WMMNA today, this one focusing on a group of artists who refer to themselves as ‘robotlab’. Robotlab’s mission, they say, is to bring robots, particularly industrial robots which are typically hidden away in places humans can’t or don’t visit, into the public sphere so people may interact with them. “Social patterns between man and machines do not exist,” says robotlab, and true it is. One of the most interesting robotlab exhibits features a robot which looks very much like your typical assembly line welder drawing portraits of visitors. There’s also a pair of DJ bots capable of spinning visitor requests—should be a hit at the next rave. Don’t forget the acid.
