Sonicblue and Intel are planning a portable video player that will be able to download video from both PCs and (here’s where things get interesting) Sonicblue’s ReplayTV digital video recorder. The networks and the movie studios are not going to like this last feature, especially if it’s possible to transfer the files back off of the player and on to someone else’s PC or ReplayTV. Plans are for the ReplayTV Portable Video Player, as it’s been dubbed, to have a four inch screen and a 40GB hard drive. Goes on sale next year.
