Intel has officially taken the wraps off Sonoma, their code-named update for the Centrino platform. Expect new laptops that adopt the platform to support all three major flavors of 802.11 (b/g/a), sport faster DDR2 memory, built-in support for TV out and Dolby Digital 7.1 sound, and faster graphics. Add all that into a faster front side buss (533MHz) and a new Pentium M chip running at 2.13GHz and you’ve got a super mobility platform that was already pretty fantastic to begin with.
