IPEVO Free-1 Phone Reviewed (Verdict: White)

This $29 VOIP phone actually looks like a phone I had as a kid. It was flat and you laid it down on a desk and if you knocked it off said desk it would pick up and then you’d freak out wondering why the phones weren’t working. However, this one is digital.

Compatible with both XP and OS X, the IPEVO works with Skype to make in-network and SkypeOut calls. All of the buttons are fully programmable, including three custom function buttons for quick dialing friends and relations. At only 1.5″ thick and 6″ long, the design is pretty striking. Some issues with the Mac driver, however, suggesting that it was released half-baked.
