Last week, it was revealed that Marvel's favorite Agent of SHIELD, Nick Fury, will be showing up in Kenneth Branagh's movie version of Thor... which apparently came as a surprise to the actor who plays him, Samuel L. Jackson.
Talking to MTV, Jackson said:
Nobody's told me anything... I was reading the trades last week and I saw the cast list. My name was in it, so maybe I am doing something that I don't know about and I'll hear about it soon... I don't know what's going on. Since Disney's bought the franchise, I have no idea what Marvel told them or even if my deal with Marvel is still valid.
We can't think of any reason why the studio being purchased would invalidate Jackson's longterm, multiple-movie deal, but maybe Jackson beat up Mickey Mouse at Disneyworld sometime, creating some bad blood between him and Disney. That said, you'd think that signing on for nine movies with a studio would have been a sign to Jackson that he'll probably be showing up in every Marvel movie for the next few years...
