There was a lot of speculation last week about who would be the latest licensee of the Palm operating system, and it turned out to be Fossil, a name that almost no one was expecting to hear. Fossil introduced a Wrist PDA earlier this year that was really just a companion to a Pocket PC, but this newest iteration is actually a full-fledged PDA shrunk down to the size of a wristwatch that can run almost any Palm application. It runs Palm OS 4.1 and has a 33MHz Dragonball VZ processor, 2MB of RAM, and a 160×160 pixel touchscreen that you can write on with a tiny stylus stored in the watchband. Should be in stores sometime in the middle of next year.
