Gateway, darling of the 1990s with its beautiful cow boxes and unstoppable market share, is ripe for the picking say TheDeal wonks. Expect the company, like IBM, to fold itself into a ball and wait for a Chinese investor to take over in the next few months. While it still has some nice market share, it’s just not bringing in the cash like it used to. PC margins are slim and fading fast and even laptops are becoming commodity products. Is Dell next?
