iTube: Tube-based Amp for iPod

By

Reading time 1 minute

PsiberAudio is finally bridging the digital gap, offering this beautiful hand-wired tube amp and preamp built specifically for your (PCB-laden, near-entirely digital) iPod with their newest iTube SE15. Featuring 100% three-dimensional, teflon-coated silver wire, Alps Blue Velvet potentiometers (for the preamp) and 15 watts of fluid musical power, this bad boy is ready to rock your digital music the way it was meant to be heard. Sort of. (Actually, Psiber has quite the argument for the “audiophilial” qualities of the iPod, and when pumping completely raw AIFF audio through the device, it stacks up rather well apparently. I don’t hear that well to begin with to care.) No price or ordering information is available which we always take to mean “expensive”, but if you’re the type always complaining about “sonic warmth” and the like, this might be worth looking into.
