If you scroll down to the bottom of this short writeup on MoCoLoco (which focuses on a dot matrix clock also by Japanese designers) you will notice something that looks vaguely like a Power Macintosh, except wood. It’s composed largely of birch and walnut (and not CherryOS oh ho ho) and designed by Masato Tokuno, who has some other cool stuff here, though nothing that quite matches the simple elegance of the Apple ripoff. I don’t know how much it costs or even whether they’re being produced for consumption, but that’d be one hell of a platform for building one of the coolest G5 case mods ever.
