JNC SSF-M5: Yet Another 1.5GB MP3 Player

Today, I make an iron-clad prediction: by this time next year, you’ll be able to get 1.5GB MP3 players at Wal-Mart (or your local indigenous people exploiter of choice) for $50, or free when you sign up for a new Sears card. I mean, these things are just crawling out of the woodwork, like this JNC SSF-M5, which as DAPreview notes, has a sharp resemblance to the recently announced Teac MP-1000. Don’t get me wrong, though; I think cheap, disposable 1.5GB players are fantastic. That’s about as small as I’d want to go in a player, since I tend to sort of eyeball these by ‘album quantity,’ and 15-25 is an ample number.

When is Fisher-Price going to get in the game? Disney Electronics, do you still hate me? Because if not, I’d like to see a sub-$100 model pre-loaded with a bunch of your movie soundtracks.
