The trailer for the second Hunger Games movie has arrived, and it takes us far outside the arena. While President Snow and Plutarch Heavensbee plot Katniss’ fall, Katniss starts to grow into her role as a symbol of hope for the people of Panem.
There’s some truly fantastic stuff in this trailer: Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee, the tension between Katniss’ role as a victor and the rebellious symbol she offers the people of Panem, and Prim, longing to come into her own as person with the power to do good in the world—and all before we even get to the 75th annual Hunger Games. It looks like the film version is headed for some places only hinted at in the books.
