Deadline reports Nicolas Cage will return for a sequel to Longlegs from original director Osgood Perkins. According to the outlet, however, the project is “not a [direct] sequel” but instead something “set in the Longlegs universe.”
Jumanji: Open World
Footage from the fourth Jumanji movie screened at CinemaCon confirms the sequel is officially titled Jumanji: Open World. According to presenter Dwayne Johnson, the film additionally contains an “Easter egg in every single scene” referencing the 1995 original. [Screen Rant]
Evil Dead Burn
According to Deadline, an Evil Dead Burn trailer screened at CinemaCon was “full of living dead, chainsaws, plenty of blood,” and “fingers hacked off,” as a voiceover intoned, “My sweet boy, I would give anything for us to be together again. Cheers to you, perfect family.”
Clayface
Deadline also has word the Clayface trailer screened at CinemaCon showed “a highly disfigured” Matt Hagen “with red eyes lying in a hospital bed.” It then cuts to the character’s “various stages of mutilation, pre- and post-some kind of traumatic event.” Following, “we see the character wearing a mask, seemingly molting, and with a face he can distort like putty.”
A Blind Bargain
Crispin Glover plays a mad scientist determined to reverse the aging process in the trailer for A Blind Bargain.
My Best Friend’s Dead
Elsewhere, a woman’s attempt to resurrect her murdered bestie invokes the wrath of a demon in the trailer for My Best Friend’s Dead.
The Wolf and the Lamb
We also have a trailer for The Wolf and the Lamb, in which a 1870s school teacher must rescue her son from vampires.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
According to a new report from Atlantico Hoy (via Screen Rant), HBO has had to pause production on the second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms due to Storm Therese causing severe flooding and damage at Las Niñas Dam in Gran Canaria, Spain, where the show was filming. The outlet states, “The crew must submit an action plan for set removal, which is currently submerged, and will be carried out as soon as the water level settles and allows the crew to operate safely.” Whether filming on the second season will resume elsewhere currently remains uncertain.
