Why does God hate laser tanks? That’s the question (more or less) posed by DefenseTech, who is tracking down the work by ‘Ionatron Inc,’ a firm supposedly developing a system that uses lasers to carve conductive channels of ionized air, down which superheated plasma beams are conducted.
But there is apparently trouble in LaserLand, with talk of stolen ideas and disinterested military spenders (this despite a $12 million grant from the Feds). I didn’t read it all, because they weren’t talking about frying enemy soldiers in their beds from two miles away.
