The Backflip (AT&T’s first Android phone) was ambitious but ultimately not the kind of handset that competes with the Nexus One. Leaked info on the Samsung i897, however, implies that AT&T may be getting a pretty fantastic, unskinned Android phone.

The specs?
• 4-inch AMOLED screen
• Unskinned Android 2.1 (hopefully no skin means it’ll be quickly updated)
• 5-megapixel camera
• Potential 1GHz Snapdragon processor
