There hasn’t been a Lego release month like August 2026 in a long time. Not only are some of the brand’s trademark franchises getting new sets— stuff like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Pokémon, and Minecraft—but there is an overabundance of random, awesome stuff. There’s an X-Files set. There’s an E.T. set. There’s a KPop Demon Hunters set. And those are just a few of the killer sets coming this month. So read on and check out some of what Lego is releasing in August 2026.
The X-Files
It’s difficult to encompass several seasons of an iconic show like The X-Files, but Lego has done a pretty decent job here. This multilayered build with mini-figs galore, spaceships, and more. It’s just off-the-charts awesome. Plus, if you preorder it from August 1 (for Lego Insiders) through the 10th, you have a chance to get the Lego Ideas The X-Files: Scully’s Lab as a freebie. While supplies last, of course. ($200, out August 4)
E.T. the Extra Terrestrial
E.T. usually phones home. But this month, he can come home with you in a Lego set. And it’s a pretty good size too, measuring about 10 inches high. ($140, out August 1)
Donkey Kong Arcade
The coolest Lego sets are the ones that both look awesome but are also functional. And now, the champion of those categories has to be this functional Donkey Kong arcade machine. You probably can’t go full Billy Mitchell on it, but we love it anyway. ($200, out August 1)
Batmobile: Tumbler
Lego has done Batmobiles before. It’s even done the Christopher Nolan Tumbler before. A few times, in fact. But now, it’s being released as a Technic set so, for the first time, you can roll it around like you’re six years old and not worry too much about it breaking apart. ($190, out August 1)
Boba Fett
As usual, there are a bunch of Star Wars sets coming out this month. Most of them center on The Mandalorian and Grogu (such as the Offworld Sandcrawler and Mudhorn for $200, out August 1, the Imperial Remnant AT-AT with INT-4 for $160, out August 1, and the Hutt Palace and Sentry Droid Showdown for $50, also out August 1). Our favorite, though, is this bad boy. A full-body Boba Fett build that reminds you why The Mandalorian was made in the first place: because Boba Fett was so cool. ($170, out August 1)
Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird
This was obviously going to happen. More and more sets from KPop Demon Hunters are coming, and while it’s just slowly rolling out, you can expect the number of sets to go “up, up, up!” ($70, out August 1)
Pokémon SMART Play: Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle
Lego also has a lot of new Pokémon sets coming this month, but undoubtedly the main event is this “Smart Play” set featuring Charizard vs. Jolteon. Not only does it look cool, but it has smart functions too. You can read more about those at the link right here. ($120, out August 1)
The Fantastic Four: H.E.R.B.I.E.
We’ve got a few months until the Avengers: Doomsday Legos start hitting shelves, but in the meantime, you can get this cool recreation of The Fantastic Four‘s H.E.R.B.I.E., who is definitely in the movie (or at least in the trailer). ($75, out August 1)
Minecraft: Chicken Jockey
From screaming movie theaters to your Lego shelf, it’s everyone’s favorite Minecraft character/moment. ($30, out August 1)
One Piece: Garp’s Marine Battleship
I have to admit, I’m not a big One Piece fan. But I figure one or two (billion) of you out there are, so you’ll be happy to know there are a bunch of new One Piece sets coming to Lego this month, with the biggest being this super-cool build of Garp’s Marine Battleship. ($180, out August 1)
Hubble Space Telescope
Finally, for basically the nerdiest set of the entire month (which is saying something), check out this excellent recreation of the Hubble Telescope. It can’t quite peer into the cosmos, but it can at least show friends and family you’re into that kind of thing. ($140, out August 1)
