The Spheros R 37 Masterpiece TV from Loewe makes me all weak in the knees. With a 160 GB hard drive built in and its own TiVo-esque options for recording and playing back shows, the Masterpiece is impressive enough from a technical standpoint. But if that’s not enough for you, note that the black front panel is black glass, not plastic or metal. Does the glass improve quality or performance at all? Who cares? It’s black glass. The Masterpiece will run you upwards of eighty-five hundred euros, if you read enough French to order it from the website. (Thanks, Susan!)
