M. Night Shyamalan may have to destroy the Earth to get his mojo back

M. Night Shyamalan's next project has a very interesting title, One Thousand A.E. - we're going on a limb here and guessing that A.E. means After Earth. Could this apocalyptic film help M. Night win back your love?

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Shyamalan is still moving forward with his super secret project A.E., which is being produced by Will Smith's company. Sadly, that does not mean we'll be getting Will - instead, his son, the Karate Kid Jaden Smith, is rumored to be attached to the work. So there's that.

The writer of this script is Gary Whitta, writer of The Book of Eli — although he also worked on some great video games and wrote the terrific Death, Jr. comics. A Shyamalan movie with the vibe of Eli might be our least-desired movie project. But maybe this film will be be Shyamalan's turning point? Perhaps M. Night will dazzle us all with Jaden Smith's tale of a fallen society? Probably not, but hey - who doesn't like a good destroyed Earth picture, good or bad? As long as this isn't some mangled plot from our favorite cartoon, Titan A.E., we're more than happy to share the apocalypse genre, for now.
