Arn at Macrumors has discovered a reference to a previously unknown "iPhone 2,1" in the latest firmware, a follow up to the iPhone 1,1 and 1,2 (first gen and 3G). More info here. [Macrumors]

While I do like my 2G iPhone very much, I won't necessarily be automatically making the switch to the next iPhone. I have to admit, I wasn't totally familiar with Bluetooth profiles prior to purchasing my iPhone. When I saw that it had bluetooth, I figured that was all I needed to know. I was rather disappointed when I found out that not all bluetooth profile stacks are the same. And when I found out that the iPhone lacked A2DP, I was rather disappointed. Needless to say, I'm very interested in how the UI/OS of the Palm Pre works. Maybe even the next generation of Android phones (beyond the first gen hardware train-wreck). But whatever I end up getting, A2DP is a feature that I want. And if the iPhone X lacks it, it will be a strike against them.

(iPhone integration with iTunes is pretty nice)
