The Waffle House Index
THR reports Inde Navarrette is attached to both star-in and co-produce The Waffle House Index, a “sci-fi thriller” at Apple Original Films. Based on a screenplay by Andrew Nunnelly, the story concerns “a Waffle House waitress whose already bad day gets worse when a stranger with a gun shows up during her night shift. What happens after involves a mass flood, killer crocodiles, a nuclear explosion, a magical bunker under the Waffle House, and aliens.”

THR also reports Alex Garfin, Billy Zane, Kevin Chapman, C.S. Lee, Alex Trumble, Oliver Wyman, Tyler Steelman, Xhaania Wright, and Caroline Jane Wes are attached to star in Wekiwa, a “creature feature” directed by Oscar-nominated sound designer, Richard L. Anderson. Set in the summer of 1983, the story follows a showman (Trumble) who “has sunk every dollar he has into a resort on a Florida island the Seminole have warned about for three hundred years. A British documentary director (Zane) arrives with four beautiful young performers (Wright, Wes, Wyman, Garfin) to shoot the commercial that will save him. A county marine biologist arrives to find out what is wrong with the lagoon. Nobody on that island will say what is in the water. By Sunday, every one of them will wish they had.”
