Meet the Artist Who Invents the Machines of Steampunkish Fairies

Samantha Bryan first started making fairies because of a project assigned to her at school. Eventually. she became curious about the the everyday life of her fairies, incorporating research into Victorian inventions into that idea. The result are these decidedly less sparkling and ephemeral fairies.

The film above comes from R&A Collaborations, and reveals the process by which Bryan makes her fairies. She's determined to make everything look like it would really work, and the result are designs that look like they could have their very own stop-motion film.
