We’ve been lusting after this for a while and it’s nice to see that its finally out. Portable recording has usually been a hit-or-miss proposition, but with this thing you know you’re at least going to get something that sounds like beautiful music. The MicroTrack 2496 is a compact two-channel digital recorder that will fulfill the wildest audiophile dreams. It supports WAV and MP3 format, allows for easy data connection transfer from the compact flash storage, has 1/4 TRS inputs, S/PDIF digital inputs, RCA inputs, and 1/8 monitoring outputs. I can already hear the kids squealing over this. Prices begin at $499.
