Nokia has officially unveiled the N-Gage QD, the updated and streamlined version of the harrowed N-Gage mobile gaming platform. There’s not a whole lot of new information since those leaked pics a few days ago, but at least now you have a nice, official Flash page to go to. Upgraded features include a smaller overall size, normally oriented position for phone calls (e.g. no Sidetalkin’), and a proper SD slot in the back, so that games can be added or hot-swapped without removing the battery. They also claim to have ‘trimmed the MP3 player,’ but there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to download a third-party application for Series 60 phones that will restore that feature. Prices for the new deck are expected to be $199 without cellular carrier subsidy, or $99 with.
