The Inquirer is reporting that Napster is working with Dell and Creative to launch a service called ‘To Go,’ which will allow owners of players from those hardware companies to download and unlimited number of songs for a $15 monthly fee. It’s not clear if this is using Microsoft’s Janus DRM technology or something incompatible, but it’s certainly worth considering. I’m as anti-DRM as the next (calm, rational) guy, but it’s not like you don’t know what you’re getting into with these types of services, and $15 for access to an entire catalog isn’t half bad.
It also solves that problem many people have when they get a digital audio player and find they don’t have enough music to fill it.
