The makers of new NBC drama The Cape have proven that they knows how to win over tastemakers in the nerd field with the news that they have cast Summer Glau in the show… as a crusading blogger.
Glau will play Orwell – dig the subtle reference – a character described as “a cute and intrepid investigative blogger who fearlessly goes after corrupt cops and costumed bad guys” in the NBC pilot that centers around a former cop who becomes a superhero in order to clear his name and win back his estranged son. We’re promised that Glau will “get physical” in the show, but let’s face it: She’s an updated Lois Lane. Admittedly, updated to, say, 2005, but for NBC, that’s still pretty good.
