Looks like word of the new palmOne handhelds has leaked a little, with confirmation of two Zire models, the 72 and 31. The Zire 72 will replace the 71, supplanting the 71’s joystick for a directional-pad, as well as doubling the RAM to 32MB and upgrading the camera with a 1.2-megapixel sensor. The other model, the Zire 31, may or may not replace the 21, but will double the amount of RAM to 16MB and add an SD/MMC slot. Both of the units should be announced officially later this month.
