Panasonic has introduced their newest Toughbook, this one built on Intel’s new Sonoma mobile chipset. Featuring a 1.86GHz CPU and a “shock-and-intrusion hardened 13.3-inch daylight readable, anti-reflective, transmissive touchscreen at 1024×768 resolution,” the Toughbook steps it up with PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet, wireless (including GPRS/GSM), and a DVD/CD-RW drive. The newest Toughbook is capable of withstanding drops from three feet, operating temperatures of up to 140 F and is also vibration and water resistant. Just what you need for your work from the most dangerous cubicle on Earth, starting at $3,500.
