New York is probably the most cellphone infested place in America, except for possibly LA, but because everyone walks here, just about everywhere you go you see people walking and talking. Not that it’s really been that much of a problem, but the New York City Council overrode Mayor Bloomberg’s veto and have instituted a ban on using cellphones at public performances like concerts, movies, plays, museums, etc. The penalty is a $50 fine, but there’s a loophole for emergencies, so expect the definition of an “emergency” to expand considerably in the coming months.
