Nintendo is on a bit of a nostalgia trip. First, Pokémon Go makes billions for the company in just a few days, and now the company is releasing an adorable new console.
The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition, launching on November 11, comes pre-installed with 30 classic Nintendo games including, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Donkey Kong. Although the Classic Edition is a nod to the OG 1985 Nintendo system that started it all, it does come with some modern conveniences. Packaged with the console is an HDMI cable, adapter, and a Classic Edition controller modeled after the original. (Nintendo will be selling a second Classic Controller for $10.)
You can also connect these controllers to a Wii Remote, so you can play old virtual console games with a more authentic controller in hand. An additional handy feature: games will have multiple suspend points so you won’t lose your progress.
Here are all 30 games that will be included:
Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest™
Donkey Kong Jr. ™
DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE
Mario Bros. ™
MEGA MAN® 2
Punch-Out!! ™ Featuring Mr. Dream
Super Mario Bros.™
Super Mario Bros. ™ 2
Super Mario Bros. ™ 3
The Legend of Zelda™
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link™
Nintendo doesn’t mention any way to add new games to the console. So unless you want to do some hardware hacking, what you see is what you get. But for just $60, you’re already getting a lot.
