Nokia’s Fuel Cell Bluetooth Headsets, A Consideration

By

Reading time 1 minute

Toshiba wasn’t the only one making fuel cell announcements last week, it seems. Nokia was demonstrating fuel cell prototypes of the Communicator phones (9290s, probably) that even had accompanying Bluetooth headsets powered by methanol, as well. Something in the article got me thinking, though. At one point, they mention selling methanol in 12ml portions “about the size of a perfume bottle.” I wonder if you could actually add scents to the methanol and use them as perfumes? Would the fuel cells be able to operate with the smelly gunk added to the fuel? Does methanol cause a searing, burning pain when spritzed on bare skin? Would that be a problem? (Thanks, Teemu!)
