Nokia’s Wibree spec got the official OK from the Bluetooth SIG today, making Wibree part of the Bluetooth standard. Wibree basically lets low-powered gadgets like heart rate monitors and watches in on the wireless fun since Wibree radios use less power than today’s Bluetooth radios. The first Wibree products are expected to roll out by 2008.
