Haven’t we all wanted our own personal fuel cell at one time or another? LG thinks so, and plans on making it a reality by commercializing 25W power supplies based on direct methanol fuel cells (DMFC) technology. The product will have a base unit and a removable fuel cartridge, all weighing less than 1kg. And a 200cc methanol cartridge can power a 25W notebook for over 10 hours. Think of your next overseas flight! The base unit should run you about $500, but the cartridges should only be about $1 each.
