I may be showing my cards a bit to say that one of my favorite sites is PocketCalculatorShow.com, but when someone pointed out their retrospective on the Sony Walkman, I felt duty-bound to share it. I had a couple of Walkmans, but by my time they’d already mostly passed onto their black, rounded-corner plastic phase, and while they seemed quite The Future at the time, I have to admit some of these older models have a cool metal heft that is hard to deny.
