The Dutch division of Orange, the European wireless provider, has a ingenious free bike promotion for new subscribers of a two-year service contract. By accepting the 30 euros (~$38.24) a month plan, subscribers get a bike with an integrated cradle that actually charges the handset while they ride, as well as a phone with a Bluetooth connection to allow use of the bundled wireless headset for completely hands-free communication. Considering the number of Dutch commuters that use bicycles (almost one-fourth of the workforce), this sort of promotion can make everyone happy: eco-friendly power with a greater degree of safety for the riders. It doesn’t get much better than that. [Thanks, Dave!]
