Ending eons of speculation, Cingular and Palm have finally given us the damn release date and price of the Treo 680: November 24 for $199 with a two-year contract. The 680 can also be purchased, unlocked, directly from Palm’s Web site for $399. Ordering it from there also lets you choose from one of four different colors.
As luck would have it, Mobility Today got their hands on a review unit and have blessed the world with a fairly in-depth video review. Of note is the return of the SD card slot and, yes, a new battery. As you already probably know, it’s really just a simplified Treo for the everyman. If you are an everyman, though, it’s probably not a bad choice to break your smartphone cherry.
