Panasonic 65″ Plasma Touch Screen

InfoSync World cleans up their CeBIT coverage with a piece on Panasonic’s 65″ Plasma HDTV with an infrared frame that turns it into an enormous touch screen. Referencing Minority Report far too many times, the reviewer tells us that Panasonic had developed some very specific weather tracking and aerial navigation software to take advantage of the touch capabilities. The great part is that the infrared unit is an independent frame around the television and Panasonic also makes a 42″ and 50″ model, so retrofitting your existing Plasma shouldn’t be too difficult. It’s USB-powered and accurate up to 2×2 millimeters. No word on price or availability, but a quick Google search pulled up a German Lycos catalog page with a price of about $5,150 for the 50″ model.
