Panasonic’s 3DTV Sales So Strong, They’re Producing 30% More

Whatever your views on 3DTV, there’s no denying Panasonic’s 3D plasmas are miles ahead of competitors’ products. Which probably goes some length to explaining why Panasonic’s increased production by 30 per cent.

According to Panasonic’s head of TV business, Hirotoshi Uehara, they’ve seen a “strong reaction,” with their factory working at “full capacity but we’ve increased 3D panel production by 30 per cent compared to our original plan.”

Currently, Best Buy is selling the 50-inch TC-P50VT20 3D plasma for $2,500, which when compared to the 55-inch $2,900 Samsung UN55C7000 had our reviewer decide that “the Panasonic TC-P50VT20 is the better pick right now.” [Financial Times via TechRadar]
