Interesting, if meandering, this Disinfo interview with the creator of #Phonepunk#—music made entirely with noises from the use of phones—namechecks, among other things, Phreaker culture, BBSes, phones from mental institutions, Kraftwerk, and Nokia (like any good Disinfo interview should). Unfortunately, I can’t find any of the Atlanta-based artist’s MP3s to listen (or link) to.
