Although they look to be a lot more tedious than Lego for 3D projects, PixelBlocks have a few advantages over the Danish giant’s building toys, namely a side-locking mechanism and a tendency towards translucence that makes PixelBlocks perfect for creating real-world versions of digital art. They’re inexpensive, too, with bundles of 200 single-color blocks sold via their website for only $5.50. Pick out 16 colors from their palette of 20 and recreate your favorite scenes from EGA videogame favorites.
