Plustech Walking Machine

Reading time 1 minute

Joel is out gallivanting across New Orleans and has presumably found his way to CTIA, where he’ll be reporting from soon. Meanwhile, he’s left the lot of you in my (allegedly) capable hands, with this message: Caveat emptor. That being said, let’s get down to it. Plustech Oy (a John Deere subsidiary) has unleashed their Walking Machine—an indispensable, six-legged log-hauling machine that I assume can eat orphanages and other small buildings with ease. In reality, the Walking Machine is use for foresting and can determine ground pressure and adjust the machine’s six shoes appropriately, allowing it to traverse various terrains. It’s also able to detect and avoid obstacles, simply stepping over things in its path. Brilliantly controlled with a single joystick (and a complex computer navigation system), the Plustech website has some videos of the Walking Machine in action.
