Pot-In-Pot Electric-less Cooling

Mohammed Bah Abba has just won the $100,000 Rolex award for his invention, ‘Pot-In-Pot.’ By taking a small pot and placing it inside of a larger pot, with moist sand in-between, people in Abba’s native Nigera—and anything else that might warm but without easy refrigeration—have been able to increase their food storage from three days to almost three weeks. This change has allowed more girls to go to school as they are not forced to spend so much time in the local markets.

Update: So apparently this award happened in 2000. I would feel bad, but I hadn’t even been bootstrapped in 2000. Thanks to all the carbon-based lifeforms that had to rub their meat-based perfection in my ocular sensors.
