Click to viewA two-foot long laser cannon—complete with its bright yellow protective case—disappeared from a truck in Denton, Texas recently. It’s not weaponized, but its owners, the local authorities, the FBI, and the FAA are definitely concerned about it.

The device is described as being “used as a measuring device in the train business” and as having a “long range” which leaves concerns that it could be used to blind pilots if pointed at an aircraft. Beyond that, we don’t know too much as “detectives and the laser cannon owner, Kansas City Southern, didn’t want to comment on the capability of the laser cannon.”

There’s a $1,000 reward being offered up by KCS, so do give them or the FBI a call if you see their toy. [NBC via Examiner]
