Perhaps the most important “feature” of the LaptopDesk is the ventilation channels. Basically grooves in the board, these are the primary mechanisms that keep the laptop, and its heat, away from your lap. The LaptopDesk also has rubber on the top and bottom to prevent slippage, is easily foldable so you can take it anywhere your laptop goes, and even has handles to carry around your laptop with.
$30 seems like a lot to spend when a few magazines will do almost the same thing, especially when it seems like hardly anyone works with a laptop actually in their lap these days.
