QuickerTek is showing off a new hardcore Wi-Fi-boosting antenna for the MacMini that they claim will give the little box a networking range of over a mile. The 27dBm Transceiver is a 500 milliwatt unit (the Mac mini standard Airport Extreme is around 30) and is available for $180. Sure, that’s over a third of the price of the mini itself, but they aren’t marketing to the average user—think more along the lines of machines hidden in remote niches.

Update: It looks like Fab-Corp has the same unit, just without the attachment for the Mac mini specificially. If you think you could do a little rigging, you can pick it up for $80 less (look under ‘amplifiers’).
