Qwest Sneaks in VOIP Offering ‘OneFlex’

Qwest quietly rolled out their ‘OneFlex’ voice-over-IP service last night, offering a basic plan of $30 a month and cheap US long distance that caps out at an additional $20 a month. That means $50 for all-you-can eat long distance, which isn’t exactly the cheapest thing in the world, but is pretty reasonable if you’re looking to completely replace your land line service (as opposed to complementing it with Skype or the like).

I didn’t see an option that gives you a discount if you bundle your DSL service with Qwest as well, which they really should offer. VOIP, if you already have internet service, should be a token charge on top of your broadband bill. Think how much bigger JULIA’s smile would be.
