Mumbai-based designer Sayalee Kaluskar and Ramiro Ramirez has come up with a wonderful concept that makes sunglasses more than just a way to prevent squinting or hide a hangover. With the addition of a thin solar cell to each arm, suddenly the glasses become a mostly subtle way to top off your gadgets when you’re out in the sun.

At the end of the day, or when you step out of the sun, the battery-filled arms on the Ray-Ban Shama Shades can be easily removed revealing microUSB or Lightning connectors that allow them to transfer the electricity they’ve collected to your devices. Even with an entire day spent in the sun the glasses probably won’t provide enough power for a complete charge, but when it comes to keeping your phone running, every little bit counts.
