RAZR Losing Its Edge?

By

Reading time 1 minute

Tired of the RAZR yet? I mean, if one more person whips his out on an episode of Entourage I’m going to puke. We deserve a cool new phone already and NEC is FINALLY challenging Motorola’s design royalty with its clamshell NEC L1 (or e949 in European and U.S. terms). At just 11.9 mm thick, the e949 is promising an upgrade to a 1.3 megapixel camera from that crap VGA, which Motorola insisted wasn’t possible with such a small chassis (although the RAZR does have Bluetooth in its extra 2 millimeters). We admit, the new NEC looks pretty hot, but right now, there’s no clue whether we’ll have an expansion slot for a memory card—which kind of sucks considering it does have an MP3 player and only 32MB of memory. A 600mAh battery is the payback for the slim size. So get used to daily charging folks.
