Long before he was the swashbuckling, incestuous, damaged brother of Tyrion and Cersei Lannister, Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau starred in the amazing space TV show Virtuality. Which, if the gods were not cruel, would have been a TV series.
We were just geeking out about how sad we were that Fox killed Virtuality, finally running the pilot as a TV movie, and then we realized just who it was that played the commander of the Phaeton, the first interstellar vessel on a 10-year mission with nothing but murderous virtual reality to keep the crew terrified sane. It's pretty amazing how young Coster-Waldau looks, and what a great complicated-but-still-a-great-leader captain he makes.
And now you've seen Jaime Lannister command a starship. "There are no men like me... in space."
