RIM Goes Tag-tastic Over NFC

RIM didn’t announce those NFC handsets for nothing, you know. Dubbed “Tag,” their NFC service will allow swapping of URls, pics and other forms of media amongst BlackBerry handsets.

Tag will be rolled into the next BlackBerry 7 update with contact, photo, document and link sharing along with BBM integration, which should make swapping PINs face-to-face of the past. Maybe. Only recent upgraders will be able to take advantage of the fancy features, with the Bold 9900 and 9930 and Curve 9350, 9360 and 9370 handsets getting the Tag-love. [CrackBerry via TNW]
