Omni Magazine was a huge inspiration to all of us at io9. And its original editor, Frank Kendig, just passed away yesterday. Here’s a great tribute to his legacy, including helping to form the unique mix of stories that Omni boasted. UPDATE: Terribly sorry about this. Apparently, he actually died on May 16, 2008, and the tribute was on the fifth anniversary of his death. Sorry we misunderstood.
