As a journalist, one of the first things you are taught is “Be alert for stories involving heating elements, cartridges of Superglue, and short pipes.” As such, here is news of the new forensic technique ‘Robot Accessory for Fuming Fingerprint Evidence’ (RAFFE), developed by Universities of Toronto and Calgary scientists, which allows a robot to take fingerprints from potentially explosive devices (bombs) without touching them. By heating the Superglue then piping it toward the package, the robot can cause the oils and moisture of fingerprints from the perp to turn white, allowing them to be photographed by its high-definition camera.
The second rule of journalism: always use the term ‘perp,’ whenever possible.
